7th & 8th Grade Photography Lesson.

In this lesson students will focus on creating their name with pictures taken representing the letters in their names. (A minimum of 4 letters must be used).
Make sure that you zoom in on the subject so that it fills the frame. If you have software you can enhance the photos by cropping it further.  Once you have all your letters photographed either print them out individually and glue them together to form your name or edit in computer software.

You may bring in the completed artwork when school resumes, or you may email it to me at dpettit@wbparishes.org
Below is an example of my name, "Pettit" done in picture letters.
Have fun

Journal Pages

Create a simple background with any medium that you have available then add some of the prompts on the list to represent gratitude (or use some of your own ideas.)  Use your creativity to add the visual image.  You could collage using magazines, draw on a seperate paper then cut out and glue to your background or draw directly onto your background.
To enhance your design you can add bible verses, quotes, or sayings.

Wire Hanger Art

Coat your hanger art with 3 coats of gesso paint that was sent home with you.  Once dry you can decorate your piece using paint, markers, colored pencil, or anything else that you can think of!  Look at your sculpture to see how the it flows.  Make sure your design compliments the flow of the design.  Think in patterns and colors.  If your sculpture looks like something...like an animal...it would be fine to paint it to look that also.  Make sure that you think in 3D.  This is a form with many angles, make sure you pay attention to them all.
Don't forget that the base is also part of the sculpture!

I Can Statement (for the construction of the sculpture)
